CAROB SYRUP

1/4 c carob powder

1/3 c brown sugar

2/3 c milk (soy, nut or other low fat milk)

1/2 t vanilla

pinch of salt

Mix carob and sugar, add milk and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes stirring. Add flavoring. For use as syrup for ice cream sundaes, add 2 t oil while simmering. Store in jar in refrigerator.

(Keep to add to milk drinks served hot or cold)
